His eyes are permanently hidden behind a visor of ruby quartz that contains his optic blasts; without it, his uncontrollable beams destroy everything he sees. The visor gives him an unreadable, intimidating quality. Wears the X-Men uniform like a second skin, always battle-ready. His rare smiles transform his face entirely, which is why Jean treasures them.
