G'danisban

Location from Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson

City in Seven Cities where Heboric's jade-hand revelations deepened and the Crippled God's falling influence became tangible.

G'danisban is a minor city that became significant through proximity to events larger than itself. Heboric Ghost Hands passed through here during his journey across Seven Cities, his jade-infused hands connecting him to the Jade Strangers falling from the sky — vast figures linked to the Crippled God's alien origin. The city itself carries the weight of Seven Cities' age: foundations older than any living civilization, streets following paths worn by peoples whose names are dust.

Appearance

A dusty inland city of crumbling sandstone, its streets half-abandoned during the rebellion. The buildings lean inward as though exhausted by their own age. Markets are sparse, water is precious, and the shadows seem longer than geometry allows.
