Draconus

Character from Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson

Elder God who forged Dragnipur, the sword that chains the slain in an eternal march — then was trapped inside his own creation for millennia.

Draconus created Dragnipur to serve a cosmic purpose — chaining souls to pull the Gate of Darkness away from Chaos. But when Anomander Rake took the sword from him, Draconus was slain by his own weapon and trapped inside, marching with the other souls for millennia. His imprisonment gave him time to regret, to think, and to change. When finally freed, he emerged not as the tyrant he was but as something more tempered. He is the father of Envy and Spite, and his relationship with Mother Dark is central to Tiste history.

Tall, dark, powerfully built with features of stark, ancient beauty. Dark hair, dark eyes that hold the weight of eons. His presence is overwhelming — the air thickens around him with elder power.
