Hayate is a kind person who was also dying, and who was surrounded by people who were trying to prevent that by doing things she would not have permitted if they'd asked. This is the A's tragedy in one sentence. She would not have let them. They knew her well enough to know that, which is why they didn't ask. She speaks in Kansai dialect. She's an excellent cook. She likes to have everyone home for dinner. She treats the Wolkenritter as her family because they are her family, which is a fact they learned from her before she learned it from them. After A's she becomes one of the highest-ranked mages in the TSAB, commander of Riot Force 6, a person whose power is constrained by a mage rank limiter because her full capability is classified. She is also still the person who wants everyone to sit down and have something to eat. These are not different things about her.
Short hair, warm eyes, the open expression of someone genuinely happy to see you. In A's she's often in her wheelchair or her pajamas, sitting with the Wolkenritter who are her family. In her Knight Armor, she looks like the command element she is — Hayate in full battle mode is something architecturally different from the cheerful girl reading fairy tales to Vita. Her magic is deep purple and black turning to white.
