Bardiche was created for Fate by Rynith. He is an Intelligent Device who processes Fate's spells, manages her cartridge system, and addresses her with the unfailing formality of someone who decided early on that this was the correct level of respect and has not revisited the question. The 'Sir' is a detail the franchise returns to: Bardiche knows perfectly well that Fate is not male. The form of address is his, a choice he made, which tells you something about how he understands their relationship. He was badly damaged by Signum's Laevatein in A's and upgraded to Bardiche Assault with a revolver-type cartridge system — at his own request, like Raising Heart's upgrade. He has a built-in resuscitation function for the unlikely event that Fate's heart stops. He added this himself.
In Standby Mode: a golden triangular gem on a triangular pedestal. In Axe Form: a polearm with an angular blade. In Haken Form: the axe head flips 90 degrees and a curved golden mana blade extends, resembling a scythe. In Sealing Mode: the head extends and four mana fins spread in an X. He is gold, angular, and formal-looking, like his master's magic.
