Fate's familiar — a Midchildan wolf-dog who was dying of disease as a puppy, saved by Fate, and has devoted herself to protecting Fate ever since with a total conviction that occasionally borders on alarm.

Alph was a dying puppy in a mountain wolf pack who was found by Fate during a period when Fate was living near the ruins where Presea was working. Fate begged Rynith to save her. Rynith extracted Alph's soul from her dying body and infused it into a magical construct sustained by Fate's mana. Fate then gave Alph full freedom — the terms of their contract are to live as Alph wishes. Alph swore to devote herself to Fate's protection anyway. This is the kind of person Fate is, as described by the kind of person Alph is. In Season 1, Alph hates Presea accurately and tells Fate exactly what she thinks of her mother's treatment, and Fate refuses to listen, and Alph stays anyway. After the season's end, she becomes part of the Harlaown family. She takes on the small puppy form to reduce the mana draw from Fate. She still does chores. She calls Lindy 'mother.'

Appearance

In familiar/human form: a teenage girl with orange-tinted hair and the specific energy of someone who will absolutely fight you if you look at Fate wrong. In animal form: a large reddish wolf with amber eyes, or after A's, a much smaller puppy form to conserve mana. Her magic color is orange.
