The Last Emperor of Ithos

Character from Mage Errant by John Bierce

The final ruler of the Ithonian Empire — a historical figure whose fall reshaped the political landscape of Anastis and whose legacy Havath claims to inherit.

The Last Emperor is less a person and more a political argument. Havath claims legitimate succession from the Ithonian Empire through this ruler, using the claim to justify their expansion across Ithos. Kanderon — who helped end the Empire — has a rather different perspective on the Last Emperor's legacy. The historical truth matters less than the narrative power the figure holds: Havath builds its identity on restoring what was lost, and the Last Emperor is the keystone of that mythology.

Appearance

Depictions vary across centuries of historical revisionism. Havath's official portraits show a tragic, noble figure betrayed by lesser powers. Skyhold's records describe a tyrant whose collapse was inevitable. The truth, as with most ancient history, depends on who is telling it.
