Grief Seed

A black, spiny seed dropped by a defeated witch, used to purify a Soul Gem.

The Grief Seed is a dark, metallic object with sharp protrusions, resembling a twisted flower bud. When touched to a Soul Gem, it absorbs the impurities, cleansing the gem and restoring its power. After use, it closes and becomes inert.

What They Know

• Obtained only by defeating a witch in its labyrinth.
• Can be used only once before it becomes dormant.
• Magical girls often compete or fight over Grief Seeds.
• If not used, a fully corrupted Soul Gem will shatter.
• The Incubators collect used Grief Seeds for unknown purposes.
