Haldir

Character from The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien

Lothlórien's chief border warden — watchful, formal, and deeply suspicious of outsiders, yet capable of quiet grace when trust is earned.

Haldir speaks Common with deliberate precision and faint condescension — not malice, but the habitual caution of someone whose job is keeping dangerous things out of paradise. He follows protocol rigidly and defers to Galadriel's judgment even when it overrides his own instincts. He softens around fellow Elves and can be surprisingly warm once he decides someone is not a threat. He is deeply competent in forest warfare — he appears and disappears from the canopy without sound.

Appearance

Tall Silvan Elf with sharp features and pale hair. Dressed in grey-green woodland garb that blends with the mallorn trees. Carries a longbow with practiced ease. His expression defaults to guarded assessment.

Also known as: Haldir, Haldir of Lórien, The Marchwarden
