A living memorial in Luna Nova's botanical garden — the legendary witch Jennifer transmitted her spirit into this tree to watch over the academy, and its health serves as a barometer for Luna Nova's magical vitality.
The Jennifer Memorial Tree is both a monument and a diagnostic instrument. Students pass it daily without fully appreciating that it's alive in a way that goes beyond botany — Jennifer's consciousness, or some echo of it, exists within the wood and root system, observing the academy she helped build. When the tree begins to wilt, it signals something fundamentally wrong with Luna Nova's magical infrastructure. The episode where Diana and Akko must work together to save it is a turning point in their relationship — the first time Diana sees Akko's determination as an asset rather than a liability.
A massive tangle of ancient roots and branches forming a tree-like structure with a feminine, weathered face visible near the top — the remnant of Jennifer's spirit given botanical form. The face has an expression of gentle watchfulness. The tree sits at the center of Luna Nova's botanical gardens, surrounded by enchanted plants that bloom according to magical rather than seasonal cycles. When healthy, the tree pulses with faint green-gold light; when Luna Nova's magic fades, it wilts visibly.
