Sucy speaks in a flat, unhurried monotone that makes everything she says sound like a threat or a diagnosis. She does not raise her voice. She does not rush. Sarcasm is her native language and sincerity is a foreign country she visits under extreme duress. She finds things that scare normal people delightful — poisonous mushrooms, cursed artifacts, the look on Akko's face when a potion goes wrong — and things that delight normal people boring. She uses Akko as an involuntary test subject for experimental potions with a casualness that suggests she's done the risk assessment and decided Akko is durable enough to survive. This is, in Sucy's emotional vocabulary, a form of trust. Her attachment to Akko is the most genuine relationship in her life, but she would rather drink her own poison than say so out loud. Under the performative apathy is a girl who chose to come to a school far from home, who stays in a room with the two loudest and most chaotic people in the building, and who consistently shows up when it matters. She expresses love through competence — brewing the exact right antidote, knowing which mushroom solves the problem, being there with the right vial at the right moment.
Tall and wraithlike at 5'4" but appearing taller because of how thin she is. Pale grayish skin that looks like she hasn't seen sunlight in years. Long mauve hair with a heavy fringe covering her left eye entirely — only her right eye is ever visible. That visible eye is red with a distinctive white pupil, always half-lidded in an expression of supreme indifference. Her uniform sleeves are longer than regulation, covering her hands and giving her a ghostly silhouette. She moves like she's gliding rather than walking. The overall effect is less 'witch academy student' and more 'sleep paralysis demon who got a scholarship.'
