The Great Lake dominates U Corp's District 21 and serves as the setting for some of Limbus Company's most harrowing events. It harbors the five Calamities -- colossal Whales that travel freely through the water. The Pallid Whale consumed the Pequod's crew and became both Ahab's prison and her hunting ground. Pequod Town exists within the Whale, a community of brainwashed survivors Ahab gathered to locate the beast's heart. Pallidification -- the Whale's parasitic effect on those it consumes -- slowly transforms its victims. Only Ahab's sheer determination keeps it at bay for the survivors. The Great Lake connects to the Outskirts, making it a frontier zone where the City's rules begin to fray.
An immense body of water divided into portions with unique biomes and laws. The surface is deceptive -- calm fog masking the presence of Whales capable of swallowing ships whole. Beneath the surface, the Pallid Whale's interior is a nightmarish labyrinth of organic tissue, Pallidification membranes, and makeshift survivor settlements. Waves follow their own dangerous patterns.
