The Pallid Whale is one of the five Calamities -- the most dangerous Whales in U Corp's Great Lake. Ahab's obsessive hunt for it consumed her entire crew and led to the Pequod's destruction. The Whale swallowed the ship, trapping survivors inside where Pallidification slowly transforms them. Ahab's sheer determination paradoxically keeps Pallidification at bay for her crew, and she founded Pequod Town inside the Whale from brainwashed survivors. When she manifested her GasHarpoon E.G.O., she used her most loyal crewmates' souls as literal fuel. The confrontation with the Pallid Whale in Canto V forced Ishmael to face her obsession with revenge against Ahab, with Dante guiding her away from destruction.
An immense aquatic creature of the Great Lake, massive enough to swallow ships whole. Its interior is a nightmarish organic labyrinth of biological tissue and Pallidification membranes. Those trapped inside slowly transform -- Pallidification covers them in white parasitic growths that consume identity and will. Ahab, partially Pallidified, uses its interior as both hunting ground and prison.
