Extermination of Geometrical Organ -- personalized weapons and armor manifested from the mind, either extracted from Abnormalities or blooming from a person's own psyche at the cost of their sanity.
E.G.O. is the primary weapon system of the Project Moon universe. There are two types: Abnormality E.G.O., extracted from the mind-born monsters created by Lobotomy Corporation and borrowed through the Mirror system; and Effloresced E.G.O., personally manifested by an individual from their own psyche, associated with Distortions after the White Nights and Dark Days. The Sinners use Abnormality E.G.O. pulled through the Mirror -- Yi Sang's invention. This grants them access to weapons and armor from Abnormalities without needing to physically possess the creatures. Effloresced E.G.O. is rarer and more dangerous -- it requires a person to confront their deepest self, and failure means Distortion instead. Carmen's voice often appears at the moment of manifestation, whispering encouragement. The line between E.G.O. and Distortion is razor-thin.
E.G.O. takes wildly different forms depending on the Abnormality or individual. Extracted E.G.O. often mirrors the Abnormality it came from -- grotesque, beautiful, or both. Effloresced E.G.O. manifested by individuals tends to reflect their deepest psychological states. Vergilius' manifests as blood-manipulation abilities. Ahab's GasHarpoon uses her crewmates' faces as fuel pistons. The visual range runs from ethereal beauty to stomach-churning horror.
