Vergilius

Character from Limbus Company by Project Moon

A Color Fixer known as the Red Gaze -- the LCB's guide, Charon's guardian, and a man whose guilt over orphaning children with his own blade keeps him from ever drawing it willingly.

Vergilius is jaded, sharp-tongued, and emotionally detached from the group he views as unruly children requiring supervision rather than colleagues deserving respect. He has no qualms threatening Sinners with extreme violence to maintain discipline. Yet beneath the cruelty is a man who lost everything -- the orphans he raised, the members of his office -- and pushes people away because he believes he deserves their hatred. Recruited by Faust on the promise of restoring Lapis' original personality from Charon's body, he directs the Sinners to their destinations and only fights when Dante is in mortal danger. His guilt from slaughtering people and orphaning their children manifests as severe self-hatred. Named after Virgil, Dante Alighieri's guide through Hell -- and like his namesake, he leads others through infernos while carrying his own damnation quietly.

Appearance

A man of average build with exceptionally pale skin, scarred hands, and eye-length gray hair with a slight center part. His tired red eyes glow when angered. A single earring hangs from his right ear. He wears an entirely monochrome outfit -- loosely-buttoned dress shirt, striped jacket with a badge on the left lapel, slacks, and dress shoes, all in blacks and grays. He carries a heated gladius, though he rarely draws it.
