Catherine

Character from Limbus Company by Project Moon

A figure from Wuthering Heights and Heathcliff's past -- her existence was erased by T Corp's restrictions, remembered only by Dante and Heathcliff.

Catherine is central to Heathcliff's emotional core and the events of Canto VI: The Heartbreaking. She grew up alongside Heathcliff at Wuthering Heights in the Earnshaw household. The details of what happened between them are entangled with T Corp's District 20 and its restrictions on color and memory. Her existence was entirely erased from everyone's awareness except Dante's and Heathcliff's -- even Demian, who can bypass most City technology, made note of the fact that he still remembered her. She represents the heart of Heathcliff's transformation from REVENGE to REMEMBER. Named after Catherine Earnshaw from Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights,' whose love with Heathcliff was the engine of that novel's destruction.

Appearance

Catherine's appearance reflects the aesthetics of Wuthering Heights -- a young woman whose specific details are deliberately obscured by the narrative, as T Corp's temporal manipulation has stripped her existence from most memories. She exists as much in absence as in presence.
