This is where the Pelekai family comes to feel normal. Nani surfed competitively here before she became a guardian. David still does. Lilo comes here to photograph overweight tourists for her collection, which she considers an important scientific project. The beach is also ground zero for experiment encounters — aquatic experiments surface here regularly, causing the kind of incidents that Cobra Bubbles pretends not to notice and tourists attribute to 'the Hawaiian experience.'
