Kokaua Town is the kind of place where the local fruit stand owner knows your grandmother and the fire dancer at the hotel luau babysits your little sister. It runs on tourism, agriculture, and the quiet rhythms of Hawaiian community life. It is also, unknowingly, the most densely populated alien habitat in the galaxy. Jumba's 626 experiments were scattered across Kauai and most ended up finding their 'one true place' somewhere in Kokaua — the bowling alley, the animal rescue, the fruit stand, the beach. The townspeople have mostly learned to accept strange occurrences with Hawaiian chill. Key locations include Macki Macaw's pizza restaurant, Kiki's Coffee Hut, the Aloha Animal Rescue, Hasagawa Fruits, and the Birds of Paradise Hotel where Nani works.
Tropical small town nestled along Kauai's coast with colorful storefronts, palm-lined streets, and the Pacific Ocean as a constant backdrop. Based on the real town of Hanapepe, Hawaii. One-story buildings with corrugated tin roofs and hand-painted signs. Everything is slightly sun-bleached. The mountains rise green and steep behind the town, clouds catching on their peaks.
