Item from Kirby by HAL Laboratory / Nintendo
The golden wand that powers the Fountain of Dreams — stolen by a king who knew that leaving it in place would doom everyone, wielded by a hero who didn't understand until it was too late.
The Star Rod is the Fountain of Dreams' power source and one of the most important artifacts on Planet Popstar. Without it, the Fountain fails and nobody on the planet can dream peacefully. This makes it both a sacred object and an incredibly dangerous one — anyone who controls the Star Rod controls the dream cycle of an entire world. King Dedede stole it and broke it into pieces, scattering them across Dream Land. Kirby reassembled it and returned it to the Fountain — only to discover that Dedede had removed it to prevent Nightmare from using the Fountain as a gateway. Returning the Rod released Nightmare, and Kirby had to use the Rod itself to destroy the horror. It's the franchise's first great plot twist: the "villain" was the hero all along.
A slender golden wand roughly Kirby's height, topped with a glowing five-pointed star. The star radiates warm yellow-white light that intensifies when wielded in combat. The rod hums with a gentle vibration, and holding it feels like holding crystallized hope. In combat, it fires star-shaped projectiles of pure dream energy.
