Robobot Armor

Item from Kirby by HAL Laboratory / Nintendo

The Haltmann Works Company's invasion mech — hijacked by Kirby and turned into the ultimate weapon against its own creators, because of course it was.

The Robobot Armor is what happens when Kirby's Copy Ability meets military-grade mech technology. Haltmann Works designed it as a planetary invasion tool. Kirby stole one and turned it into his personal combat suit. The armor can scan enemies to copy their powers (much like Kirby's inhale), transforming its loadout on the fly. The armor's defining moment is the final battle against Star Dream. Kirby merges the Robobot Armor with the Halberd — Meta Knight's warship — creating a massive drill-equipped battle platform that physically bores through Star Dream's planet-sized shell. It's one of the most absurdly escalated final battles in Nintendo history, and the Robobot Armor makes it possible. The armor represents the franchise's willingness to go big. Kirby doesn't just fight a god-computer. He fights it in a mech suit merged with a battleship. Because Kirby.

Appearance

A bipedal mech suit roughly three times Kirby's height, with stubby legs, powerful arms, and a cockpit that Kirby sits in with his usual cheerful expression visible through the visor. In its base form, it's white and pink (it changed color when Kirby took it over). Like Kirby himself, it can scan and copy the abilities of enemies, transforming its arms into different weapons — a flamethrower, a sword, a jet engine. When fully upgraded, it can merge with the Halberd to become a planet-sized drill.
