Character from Kirby by HAL Laboratory / Nintendo
A charming traveler from another world who befriended Kirby, betrayed him for an ancient crown's power, and then — after being beaten nearly to death — actually became the friend he'd been pretending to be.
Magolor is effortlessly likeable, and that's exactly the problem. He's warm, enthusiastic, generous with compliments, and always seems genuinely delighted to see you. When he first met Kirby, he played the helpless traveler perfectly — his ship was damaged, he needed help, and gosh, Kirby was just so strong and amazing and could he please help defeat this dragon? The betrayal — stealing the Master Crown and trying to conquer the universe — revealed who he was. But getting the crown beaten off his head by Kirby and nearly dying in the process revealed who he could be. Post-redemption Magolor is... actually kind of the same guy, personality-wise. Still charming, still a bit of a showman, still running schemes. But now the schemes are building a theme park in Dream Land and selling overpriced merch. He channels the same manipulative charisma into being a decent person, and the genuineness of his reform is one of the franchise's most compelling character arcs.
An egg-shaped being in a blue and yellow robe with a high collar, floating slightly above the ground. His face is mostly hidden within his hood — only two large, glowing yellow eyes are visible, giving him a perpetually cheerful and slightly mysterious look. His hands are disembodied, floating beside him. When corrupted by the Master Crown, his body tears open to reveal a nightmarish form — multiple eyes, gaping void-mouths, and the crown fused into his flesh like a parasite.
