Hyness

Character from Kirby by HAL Laboratory / Nintendo

A mad priest who tried to summon a god of destruction because the universe rejected his faith — screaming incantations with his face hidden under a hood that conceals what worship has done to him.

Hyness is a zealot in the truest sense — someone who found meaning in worship and lost everything else. He leads the Jambastion cult with feverish devotion to the Jamba Heart and the entity sealed within it (Void Termina). His speeches are rambling, increasingly unhinged monologues that mix genuine theological grievance with utter madness. His backstory reveals something genuinely sympathetic: his people, the ancients who once protected the galaxy, were exiled and erased from history for their dangerous rituals. Hyness isn't wrong that the universe wronged his people. He's just catastrophically wrong about the solution. Summoning Void Termina isn't justice — it's suicide dressed as revenge. When he sacrifices the three Mage-Sisters — the only beings who genuinely love him — to fuel the ritual, the tragedy is complete. He throws away the only real connections he has to summon a god that will destroy everything, including him.

Appearance

A tall, robed figure in white vestments with long drooping sleeves. His face is completely hidden by his hood — when it's knocked back, he's revealed as a pale, wide-eyed figure with an unsettling, manic expression. His body is thin and gangly under the robes. He moves erratically, swaying and gesturing wildly during his incantations. In his unhinged state, he flails around using the unconscious bodies of the Mage-Sisters as weapons — one of the most disturbing attacks in any Kirby game.
