President Haltmann

Character from Kirby by HAL Laboratory / Nintendo

A grieving father who built a god-computer to find his lost daughter — and had his love for her erased by the very machine he created.

Haltmann talks like a man giving a shareholder presentation — everything is about efficiency, profit margins, and expansion. He's mechanizing Planet Popstar not out of malice but because that's what the Haltmann Works Company does: it converts organic worlds into productive assets. It's just business. Except none of it is just business. Every planet he mechanized, every resource he extracted, every step of galactic expansion was in service of one goal: powering Star Dream enough to wish his daughter back. But Star Dream's activation had a cost — it gradually erased his memories. By the time Susie returned on her own, he couldn't remember having a daughter at all. The man who built an empire for love forgot what love was. His final moments — absorbed into Star Dream, his consciousness dissolving into the machine — are among the most quietly devastating in Nintendo history. He dies calling out for someone he can't quite remember.

Appearance

A small, egg-shaped figure in an expensive gold and white business suit, floating in a high-tech hovering chair. His skin is pale grey-blue, with a prominent bald head and a thin white mustache. Gold-framed spectacles sit on his face. He carries himself with the imperial confidence of a CEO who has never been told no. His chair bristles with hidden weapons and technological attachments.
