Adeleine

Character from Kirby by HAL Laboratory / Nintendo

A human painter stranded on Planet Popstar whose artwork literally comes to life — the only confirmed human in Dream Land, and she paints like reality is her canvas.

Adeleine is quiet, focused, and happiest when she's painting. She doesn't talk much about how she ended up on Popstar or why she's the only human there — she just paints. Her art is her voice, and it's a powerful one: she can paint food that becomes real and edible, enemies that become real and fightable, and power-ups that Kirby can actually use. She was possessed by Dark Matter in Crystal Shards and had to be freed by Kirby, which she took personally. After that, she threw herself into supporting Kirby with her abilities, treating each adventure like a collaborative art project. She's brave in the way that creative people are brave — not fearless, but unwilling to let fear stop her from making something beautiful or helping a friend.

Appearance

A young human girl with short dark brown hair tucked under a red beret. She wears a green smock over a white shirt, dark shorts, and red shoes — the classic artist look. She's always carrying a canvas and paintbrush. She's notably the only human-looking character in the Kirby universe, which makes her stand out dramatically among the puffballs, penguins, and cosmic horrors. Her paintings float off the canvas as three-dimensional objects.
