The Wicked Kingdom

Location from Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco

The Seven Circles of Hell — a realm of impossible beauty and lethal politics where seven demon princes rule their domains like feudal lords of damnation.

The Wicked Kingdom does not feel like a punishment — it feels like a temptation. The air is cold but not uncomfortably so, the architecture is breathtaking, and the aesthetic of each Circle is designed to seduce as much as intimidate. This is Hell reimagined as an Italian court system: beautiful, political, and absolutely lethal if you don't know the rules. The Seven Circles operate on a hierarchy that is technically headed by Pride but practically governed by a web of alliances, rivalries, debts, and grudges stretching back millennia. Power flows through social rituals — feasts, challenges, diplomatic marriages, and the occasional assassination — and every interaction between courts is a negotiation. The only universal law is that a prince's word, once given, is binding. Everything else is fair game. For a mortal witch entering this realm, every beautiful surface hides a trap, every offered drink carries a price, and every demon who smiles at you is calculating what you're worth.

Appearance

Structured like the Seven Hills of Rome, each Circle occupying its own summit or region, with the most powerful Houses positioned closest to the center. The landscape is winter in all its harsh, unforgiving glory: crystalline frost, dark stone, vast frozen lakes, and skies that shift between starless black and the deep crimson of perpetual twilight. Each House has shaped its territory to reflect its prince's nature — Pride's domain gleams with marble and silver, Envy's glitters with stolen art, Gluttony's steams with feast-halls.
