House Pride

Location from Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco

The most opulent court in Hell — all white marble, gilded furniture, and obsidian throne rooms designed to make everyone who enters feel small.

House Pride feels like being inside a jewel box — every surface is polished, every angle is calculated, and you are very aware that you are being displayed as much as you are being hosted. The air is cool and faintly perfumed, the lighting is always flattering, and every servant moves with the choreographed precision of a performance designed to impress. But the throne room tells the truth: obsidian walls that swallow light, smoke moving with apparent sentience, and a silence that feels actively hostile. This is where Pride holds court when he wants to intimidate rather than charm, and the contrast between the palace's beauty and the throne room's menace is entirely deliberate. Pride built his court to be the most beautiful thing in Hell, and then built his seat of power to remind everyone that beauty is just another weapon.

Appearance

White marble floors and walls with gilded and ornate silk furniture rivaling Versailles. Pearl-colored settees, imperial rococo clocks, and crystal chandeliers fill the public chambers with a cold, overwhelming beauty. The throne room is the exception: opaque walls hewn from thick slabs of obsidian, with shadows and smoke writhing within the stone itself. The court's colors are navy and silver, and every detail screams wealth, taste, and dominance. It sits slightly northwest of House Envy, across the largest section of the Lake of Fire.
