di Carlo Home

Location from Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco

The ancestral home of the di Carlo witches — a small, crowded, two-story house where generations of magical women have kept their secrets behind ordinary walls.

The di Carlo home smells like dried lavender and old magic — the kind of place where protective wards have been layered so many times over the generations that the walls themselves hum with quiet power. It is cramped and warm and impossibly safe-feeling, which is both its greatest comfort and its most dangerous illusion. This is where the twins practice their magic in secret, where Nonna teaches them the old ways, and where the cornicello amulets hang by the door when they're not being worn. The house holds more secrets than any palazzo in the Seven Circles — letters hidden in floorboards, grimoires tucked behind false walls, and a family history that goes back much further than anyone has told the twins.

Appearance

A small two-story stone house in a quiet quarter of Palermo, within walking distance of the market and Sea & Vine. Crowded with generations of accumulated belongings — dried flower bundles, hand-embroidered linens, shelves of glass jars containing herbs and tinctures. The twins share a bedroom on the upper floor. The kitchen is half apothecary. Every surface tells a story, and several of them are enchanted.
