A mysterious key that unlocks passage through the Sin Corridor — an artifact that must be earned through confronting one's own deepest desires.
The Temptation Key is less an object and more a test made physical — it manifests when a traveler has earned passage through the Sin Corridor by confronting their dominant sin honestly. It cannot be stolen, bought, or forged, because it is generated by the Corridor itself in response to genuine self-knowledge. The key opens nothing in the traditional sense — there is no lock, no door, no mechanism. Instead, holding it grants the bearer the ability to navigate the Sin Corridor without being consumed by its tests. Without it, the Corridor is a trap. With it, the Corridor becomes a passage. The distinction has cost more than one overconfident soul their freedom.
A small, warm-to-the-touch key that shifts appearance depending on who holds it — sometimes iron, sometimes gold, sometimes bone. Its shape is never quite fixed, as if the key itself hasn't decided what it is yet. The only constant is a faint warmth that pulses from its center, like a heartbeat.
