Location from Kingdom Hearts by Tetsuya Nomura / Square Enix & Disney
A beautiful city of light and learning that fell to darkness — birthplace of Organization XIII and Kairi, now slowly being rebuilt by the Restoration Committee.
Radiant Garden is the crossroads of Kingdom Hearts history. Nearly every major character has ties to this world. Ansem the Wise ruled here. His six apprentices — including Xehanort — studied the heart here. Eight of the thirteen original Organization XIII members were created when those apprentices became Nobodies here. Kairi was born here. Lea and Isa grew up here. The world's fall to darkness was not random — it was deliberately engineered by Xehanort. The research into hearts that Ansem the Wise began with good intentions was perverted into experiments that opened the floodgates of darkness. The beautiful city of fountains became the hollow shell of a castle. Now, under Leon's Restoration Committee and with the returned Ansem the Wise's guidance, Radiant Garden is slowly healing. But the scars run deep, and the world's complicated history ensures that danger is never far away.
In its prime, a gorgeous city of flowing fountains, sunlit plazas, and elegant architecture surrounding the grand castle. After its fall, only the twisted Hollow Bastion remained. During restoration, new construction rises alongside ruins, with the central town area featuring shops, homes, and Merlin's house. The outer ravines still bear scars of Heartless devastation.
