Item from Kingdom Hearts by Tetsuya Nomura / Square Enix & Disney
The legendary weapon that unlocks Kingdom Hearts — forged from the clash of seven lights and thirteen darknesses, it is the object of Master Xehanort's obsessive pursuit.
The chi-blade is the key to everything — literally. It is the only weapon capable of unlocking and controlling Kingdom Hearts, the heart of all worlds. It existed before any human-made Keyblade, and all Keyblades are imperfect copies of its design. In legend, the first Keyblade War was fought over the chi-blade, which was ultimately shattered into twenty pieces — seven of light and thirteen of darkness. Master Xehanort's entire life was dedicated to reforging it. His first attempt used Ventus and Vanitas. His final, successful attempt required the clash of the Seven Guardians of Light against the thirteen members of the Real Organization XIII. The chi-blade's name is a deliberate pun — pronounced identically to 'Keyblade' in both Japanese and English, but written with the Greek letter chi, which carries a meaning of death. It is the weapon that ends the world and the weapon that could save it, depending on who wields it.
Made of two crossed Kingdom Keys with teeth facing outward, adorned with ornate filigree. The complete version gleams with gold and silver. The incomplete version glows red-orange with visible cracks and chips, surrounded by an aura of darkness. Its keychain features two crossed Kingdom Keys over a heart symbol resembling the Heartless emblem.
