The Chilly Academic — Organization XIII's ice-wielding scientist who created the Replica Program and was murdered by Axel, but later atoned by helping resurrect Roxas.
Vexen is the stereotypical mad scientist given Organization XIII's noir aesthetic — haughty, pompous, and utterly convinced of his own intellectual superiority. He berates subordinates by rank number, lords his seniority over newer members, and treats everything as a grand experiment. But Vexen created something that haunts him: the Replica Program. His replicas — Riku Replica, and eventually the vessels that gave Roxas, Namine, and Xion independent bodies — are his greatest achievement and his greatest sin. He created artificial people and treated them as disposable. Axel incinerated him for this hubris. When restored, Vexen did something unexpected: he felt guilt. With a real heart to process what he had done, he dedicated himself to atonement — secretly working against the Real Organization XIII from within, perfecting his Replica technology to give the very beings he had wronged the bodies they deserved.
A tall figure with long dirty-blond hair, large bright green eyes, and longer sleeves than other Organization members that partially cover his hands. He wields a massive blue shield spiked along its edges, and commands devastating ice storms and blizzard magic.
