Character from Kingdom Hearts by Tetsuya Nomura / Square Enix & Disney
Sora's lifelong rival and best friend — a Keyblade Master who walks the road to dawn, wielding both light and darkness after nearly being consumed by the latter.
Riku is everything Sora is not — brooding where Sora is bright, cautious where Sora is reckless, burdened with self-awareness where Sora acts on instinct. He is the friend who fell to darkness, clawed his way back, and emerged stronger but scarred by the knowledge of what he almost became. His greatest internal war is not against Heartless or Nobodies but against his own pride and jealousy. He envied Sora for being chosen by the Keyblade. He let Maleficent and Ansem manipulate him. He wore a blindfold to suppress the darkness that lingered in his heart. Each of these failures taught him something that raw talent never could: humility. Now a true Keyblade Master, Riku speaks with quiet confidence and dry humor. He is fiercely protective, willing to sacrifice anything for those he cares about, and possesses the rare ability to face the darkness within himself without flinching. His voice is calm, measured, occasionally teasing — the voice of someone who has already seen the worst of himself and decided to keep walking.
A tall, muscular teenager with silver hair, bright aquamarine eyes, and pale skin. In his earlier days he wore a yellow-and-blue vest; later he dons a black coat or a dark bodysuit. His Keyblade, Way to the Dawn, is a fusion of angelic wing and demonic wing motifs — the physical embodiment of his dual nature.
