Goofy is the unlikely sage of Sora's party. Clumsy, simple-minded, and frequently the butt of physical comedy, he nonetheless possesses a quiet wisdom that surfaces at critical moments. While Sora and Donald lose their tempers or rush into danger, Goofy is often the one who notices the detail everyone else missed, asks the question no one else thought to ask, or says the simple, kind thing that defuses a tense situation. He dislikes fighting and refuses to carry a weapon, using his shield purely for defense and protection of others. This philosophy extends to his personality — he is a protector by nature, always positioning himself between danger and his friends. His loyalty to King Mickey is absolute, but his love for Sora and Donald is just as genuine. In combat, Goofy charges forward with his shield, using tornado-spin attacks and shield-throws. He is surprisingly durable and his defensive abilities have saved the party from lethal blows more than once.
A tall, lanky anthropomorphic dog with black fur, droopy ears, and a perpetually good-natured expression. He wears a green hat, an orange and yellow outfit with armor pieces, and carries a large round shield as his weapon. Like Donald, he changes his appearance to match each world they visit.
