Demyx

Character from Kingdom Hearts by Tetsuya Nomura / Square Enix & Disney

The Melodious Nocturne — Organization XIII's lazy, cowardly musician who controls water through his sitar and is far more dangerous in battle than his personality suggests.

Demyx is the Organization member who does not want to be there. He avoids missions, complains about fighting, calls sweat 'gross,' and would rather sit in The World That Never Was playing his sitar than do anything remotely heroic or villainous. He is lazy, cowardly, and perpetually trying to dump his work on someone else. And then you fight him, and he nearly kills you. Demyx's water clones are one of the most infamous difficulty spikes in the series. His casual demeanor completely belies the devastating power he can bring to bear when cornered. He summons water forms, controls geysers, and weaponizes music itself — all while whining about having to do it. Despite his apparent uselessness, Demyx proved crucial in Kingdom Hearts III by secretly helping Vexen's plan for atonement — delivering blank Replicas to Ienzo for the resurrection of Roxas and Namine. Whether this was genuine goodness or simply self-preservation remains ambiguous.

Appearance

A youthful Nobody with dirty-blond hair styled in a distinctive mullet with bangs falling over his face, and cyan eyes. He wears the standard black Organization coat. He carries a large blue water sitar called Arpeggio, which he plays to summon and control water constructs.
