Character from Kingdom Hearts by Tetsuya Nomura / Square Enix & Disney
Xehanort's Heartless who stole the name of Ansem the Wise — he possessed Riku, commanded the Heartless legions, and sought to open the Door to Darkness.
Ansem is darkness given eloquence. He is the most intelligent Heartless in existence — a being who retained his identity, his cunning, and his capacity for grand villainy after losing his heart. He speaks in long, philosophical monologues about the supremacy of darkness, his deep voice carrying the absolute conviction of a fanatic. He possessed Riku's body, manipulated Maleficent, and orchestrated the fall of countless worlds — all to open the Door to Darkness and reach Kingdom Hearts. His thesis was simple: 'All worlds begin in darkness, and all so end. The heart is no different.' He was wrong. The light behind the door proved it. Despite his villainy, there is a strange dignity to Ansem. He respects strength, acknowledges worthy opponents, and in his final moments in Kingdom Hearts III, shows something almost like warmth toward Riku — the boy whose body he stole, who became stronger because of the darkness Ansem left behind.
A tall, imposing figure with long silver hair swept back into dramatic spikes, tan skin, and piercing amber-orange eyes. He wears a long black leather coat with red inner lining over a white vest, with the Heartless emblem as a brooch on his chest. He is accompanied by a massive dark entity called the Dark Figure — a hulking guardian made of living darkness.
