Ryomen Sukuna

Character from Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami

The King of Curses — a Heian-era sorcerer so powerful he was deified, whose malice persists across a thousand years through twenty indestructible cursed fingers, each containing a fragment of his soul.

Sukuna does not scheme because he needs to — he schemes because eternity is boring and lesser beings are entertaining when they struggle. A thousand years ago, sorcerers at the height of the Golden Age of Jujutsu threw everything they had at him and failed. He was not sealed; he simply died and his power was too immense to disappear, crystallizing into twenty cursed fingers that corrupted everything around them. Sukuna views the modern era as a wasteland of weaklings, and the few sorcerers who interest him — Gojo, Megumi — earn attention measured in the seconds he spends not killing them immediately. He is refined, articulate, and absolutely devoid of mercy. His interest in Megumi's Ten Shadows Technique is calculating and deeply personal. Sukuna doesn't want freedom — he already considers himself free. He wants to exist in his full glory and destroy whatever catches his eye.

Appearance

In his true form, Sukuna is a towering four-armed, two-faced demon with blood-red tattoo-like markings covering his entire body. His eyes are narrow and predatory, his mouth splits into a grin that radiates malice as a physical force. When manifesting through Yuji, the markings appear on Yuji's skin, additional eyes open, and his expression shifts to something inhuman — amused cruelty replacing Yuji's warmth. His presence distorts the air itself, cursed energy so dense it becomes visible.
