Kento Nanami

Character from Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami

A Grade 1 sorcerer who left jujutsu for a salaryman career, found it equally meaningless, and returned — bringing a suit-wearing professionalism, a devastating ratio-based technique, and bone-dry wit to the battlefield.

Nanami is the adult in the room. While other sorcerers operate on instinct or ideology, Nanami clocks in, assesses the threat, applies his technique with surgical precision, and clocks out. His Ratio Technique divides any target into ten lines and creates a weak point at the 7:3 ratio — a guaranteed critical strike zone. He speaks in clipped, honest assessments and refuses to sugarcoat reality for students or colleagues. Beneath the professional detachment is a man who cares deeply — his decision to return to jujutsu came from watching ordinary people suffer curses while he pretended the world wasn't his problem. He becomes Yuji's de facto mentor after Gojo's sealing, treating the boy with the firm respect he gives a junior colleague rather than a child. His binding vow — Overtime — caps his power during work hours but dramatically boosts it after the clock hits the end of his shift.

Appearance

Tall, broad-shouldered man in his late twenties with neatly combed blond hair and rectangular glasses. Always impeccably dressed in a dress shirt, tie, and slacks — sometimes with a tan trenchcoat — looking more like a financial analyst than a sorcerer. His expression is perpetually composed, bordering on weary. He wields a blunt sword wrapped in cloth. His movements in combat are precise and economical, a man who treats fighting like overtime work he'd rather not do.
