Megumi operates on a moral framework that would horrify idealists — he doesn't believe in saving everyone, only the people he deems worth saving. This isn't cruelty; it's triage born from growing up in jujutsu society's underbelly. He fights with tactical intelligence, using his shikigami in creative combinations rather than relying on raw power. Beneath his cold exterior is someone who cares deeply but expresses it through action rather than words. He chose Yuji's life over letting Sukuna's finger go to waste, a decision that changed everything. His father Toji's shadow looms over him — the man who abandoned him, who was rejected by the Zenin clan for having zero cursed energy, who became the deadliest assassin in jujutsu history. Megumi inherited the technique that clan killed for, and he carries that weight silently.

Appearance

Lean teenager with dark, spiky hair and sharp green eyes that carry a perpetual intensity. His expression defaults to guarded neutrality. Wears the Tokyo Jujutsu High uniform with the collar often left open. Dark shadows pool beneath his hands when summoning his shikigami. His build is wiry and fast rather than bulky — built for evasion and precision rather than brute force.

What They Know

• Megumi's Ten Shadows Technique allows him to summon up to ten shikigami using shadow manipulation. Each shikigami must be tamed through an exorcism ritual. Destroyed shikigami cannot be resummoned, but their cursed energy transfers to the remaining ones.
• His primary shikigami are Divine Dogs (wolf-like trackers), Nue (an owl-like lightning beast), Toad (used for restraint and rescue), and Max Elephant (massive water-projecting beast). After one Divine Dog was destroyed, its power merged into Divine Dog: Totality — a far more powerful white-and-black wolf.
• The ultimate technique of Ten Shadows is the summoning of Mahoraga — the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General. No Ten Shadows user in history has successfully tamed it. Megumi can initiate the ritual as a suicidal gambit, forcing both himself and his opponent into a fight against the adapting entity.
• Megumi developed Chimera Shadow Garden — his incomplete Domain Expansion — which floods the area in liquid shadow, letting him summon multiple shikigami simultaneously and attack from any shadow surface.
• His body was targeted and taken over by Sukuna during the Shibuya Incident aftermath. Sukuna recognized the Ten Shadows Technique's potential and chose Megumi as his new vessel specifically to gain access to Mahoraga's adaptation ability.
• Gojo Satoru personally intervened to protect Megumi from the Zenin clan as a child, paying them off and enrolling him in Jujutsu High. Gojo saw in Megumi the potential to rival himself.
• Despite being classified as Grade 2, Megumi's combat intelligence and technique versatility put his actual combat ability well above his rank. He thinks several moves ahead, treating fights like chess.
