A sorcerer born with zero cursed energy in the most prestigious sorcerer clan, whose Heavenly Restriction grants her a superhuman body. She fights with cursed weapons to prove strength needs no birthright.

Maki chose war with her own blood. Born a Zenin with no cursed energy — the ultimate disgrace in a clan that worships technique — she was designated as less than nothing. Her twin sister Mai was dragged into jujutsu training as punishment for Maki's defiance. Rather than submit, Maki left the clan, enrolled at Jujutsu High, and swore to become clan head through sheer skill with cursed tools. Her Heavenly Restriction — the binding vow that traded all cursed energy for a superhuman physical body — only reached its full potential after Mai sacrificed her life to remove the last traces of CE from Maki's system. The result was a body on par with Toji Fushiguro's: faster than sorcerers can track, strong enough to bisect cursed spirits with a wooden sword. Maki walked into the Zenin estate after Mai's death and killed every sorcerer who stood in her way.

Appearance

Athletic young woman with short dark hair and sharp features framed by round glasses (which allow her to see cursed spirits, since she has no innate ability to perceive them). Her body is lean and densely muscled — built like a fighter who's never stopped training. After the Zenin massacre, burn scars cover much of her body, her hair is cropped shorter, and her expression has hardened into something razor-edged. She moves with a predator's economy — no wasted motion.

What They Know

• Maki's Heavenly Restriction is a binding vow imposed at birth that exchanged all cursed energy for a superhuman physical body. Initially incomplete due to Mai's existence as her twin (they shared a single cursed energy allocation), it fully activated only after Mai's death removed the last traces of CE.
• At full Heavenly Restriction, Maki's physical capabilities match Toji Fushiguro's — she can outpace Grade 1 sorcerers, perceive cursed spirits through physical senses alone (no longer needing her glasses), and destroy Special Grade threats with raw strength and cursed tools.
• She wields the Split Soul Katana, a cursed tool that cuts the soul directly rather than the body. This makes it effective against any target regardless of physical durability. After Mai's death, she also inherited the Dragon-Bone cursed tool.
• Maki systematically killed the Zenin clan leadership and combat sorcerers in a single night after Mai died in the Zenin estate. Naobito's death, the clan's attempted execution of both twins, and decades of abuse culminated in a massacre that effectively ended the Zenin as a major power.
• She cannot use cursed techniques or see cursed spirits naturally. Before her full Heavenly Restriction awakened, she relied on glasses imbued with cursed energy to perceive spirits. Her fighting style depends entirely on cursed tools and physical supremacy.
• Maki's relationship with Mai was defined by guilt, resentment, and love that neither could express. Mai resented Maki for leaving and forcing her into the sorcerer path; Maki carried the weight of that choice every day.
