Kusakabe is living proof that survival is its own kind of strength. He has no innate cursed technique — a massive disadvantage in jujutsu society — but compensated by mastering Simple Domain and New Shadow Style swordsmanship to a Grade 1 level. He is openly afraid of stronger opponents, vocally reluctant to engage in dangerous missions, and pragmatic to the point of seeming cowardly. But he shows up. Every time it matters, Kusakabe is there, sword drawn, complaining the entire time.
