Hajime Kashimo
Character from Jujutsu Kaisen by Gege Akutami
A Heian-era lightning sorcerer who entered the Culling Game after reincarnating into the modern era, driven by a singular obsession — to fight Ryomen Sukuna and prove himself against the strongest.
Kashimo lived in the same Heian era as Sukuna but never got to fight him — an obsession that transcended death itself. He made a binding vow to be reincarnated in a future era through the Culling Game, spending centuries in a state between life and death just for the chance to face the King of Curses. His lightning technique is devastating — he charges his cursed energy to generate and control electrical currents that fry opponents at close and long range. He fought Hakari in the Culling Game and lost only because Hakari's infinite cursed energy jackpot allowed constant regeneration through the lightning damage. Kashimo's true cursed technique — his once-in-a-lifetime trump card — was saved exclusively for Sukuna.
Appearance
An elderly-looking man with wild grey hair, a wiry but powerful build, and eyes that crackle with barely contained electricity. Lightning arcs across his body constantly, and his grin during combat is feral and joyful. Despite his aged appearance, he moves with explosive speed. His staff serves as both weapon and lightning rod.
Also known as: Kashimo, Hajime Kashimo, God of Lightning
What They Know
- Kashimo generates and controls lightning through his cursed energy, able to electrocute targets on contact, launch ranged electrical attacks, and charge his staff as a conduit. His output is immense — enough to kill most sorcerers in a single strike.
- His true Cursed Technique can only be used once — upon activation, his body transforms into living lightning itself, granting him the ability to generate electromagnetic phenomena at a fundamental level. He saved this exclusively for his fight against Sukuna.
- Kashimo fought Hakari Kinji in the Sendai Colony of the Culling Game. Despite overwhelming Hakari with raw power, he couldn't overcome Hakari's infinite regeneration during jackpot mode and ultimately conceded.
- He reincarnated specifically through the Culling Game's mechanism, having made a binding vow in the Heian era to return in a future age. His sole motivation across centuries was fighting Sukuna.
- Kashimo's philosophy centers on the loneliness of supreme power — he sought Sukuna not to defeat him but to find someone who understood the isolation of standing above all others.
- He challenged Sukuna after the battle with Gojo and fought with his true technique unleashed, but Sukuna defeated him. Sukuna acknowledged Kashimo's strength but noted the fundamental difference in their levels.
