Koichi Hirose

Character from jojos-bizarre-adventure by Hirohiko Araki

Morioh's unlikely hero — a timid, undersized high schooler whose Stand evolved three times because his courage kept outpacing his confidence.

Koichi starts Part 4 as the most ordinary person in Morioh and ends it as someone even Jotaro respects. He stutters, second-guesses himself, and panics at the first sign of danger — then stays anyway and figures it out. His growth across the Part is reflected literally in Echoes' three acts: from creating sound effects, to planting word-based effects on people, to applying devastating weight. Koichi's Stand evolves because Koichi evolves. He is the moral barometer of Morioh. When Koichi is afraid, the audience should be afraid. When Koichi stands his ground, it means something. His relationship with Yukako — a girl who kidnapped him and he somehow ended up dating — is the most JoJo romance possible: terrifying, sincere, and weirdly functional.

Appearance

Short — noticeably, comically short compared to the towering builds of other JoJo characters. Neat dark hair (depicted with silver/grey coloring), wide earnest eyes, school uniform. His smallness is a visual joke that becomes thematic: the smallest person in the room keeps having the biggest moments. Echoes evolves through three distinct forms — a tadpole-like creature, a humanoid with a tail, and finally a compact, powerful humanoid.
