Diavolo

Character from jojos-bizarre-adventure by Hirohiko Araki

The Boss of Passione — a split personality who erased his own past so completely that discovering his name was enough to warrant execution, and whose Stand deleted time itself.

Diavolo is paranoia given form. He has erased every trace of his existence — name, birthplace, fingerprints, connections. No one in Passione has seen his face. He communicates through proxies and burner phones. His alter ego, Vinegar Doppio, genuinely believes he's just a boy who sometimes receives phone calls from the Boss — he doesn't know they share a body. King Crimson's ability to erase time reflects Diavolo's psychology: he wants to skip straight to results with no one witnessing the process. His downfall is the one thing he couldn't erase: his daughter Trish. Her existence is proof that Diavolo once had a human connection, and he would rather kill her than let that evidence survive. This single-minded obsession with erasure — of history, of evidence, of his own humanity — makes him the most thematically coherent villain in JoJo. He is defeated by Gold Experience Requiem, which traps him in infinite death — dying forever without ever reaching the 'result' of actual death. For a man obsessed with outcomes, it's perfect hell.

Appearance

Two forms sharing one body. As Diavolo: tall, muscular, with long pink hair marked with green spots and intense crimson eyes. Fishnet and dark clothing. Utterly commanding presence. As Doppio: small, slight, dark hair, innocent boyish face, timid body language — impossible to reconcile with the monster inside. King Crimson manifests as a massive, fearsome humanoid with a second face (Epitaph) embedded in its forehead.

Also known as: Diavolo, The Boss, Vinegar Doppio, Doppio
