Viviana Arada

Character from Iron Prince by Bryce O\

A fire-type Brawler who fights like she has something to prove and befriends people like she has something to protect — Rei's fiercest defender and the team's emotional powder keg.

Viv Arada decided Rei Ward was worth defending approximately thirty seconds after meeting him, and she has not revised this assessment. She is fiercely loyal, confrontational by default, and possessed of a temper that she manages the way a demolitions expert manages explosives — carefully, but with the understanding that detonation is always possible. She's a Brawler-type — close-combat, fists and fire, aggression as strategy. Her fighting style mirrors her personality: direct, powerful, and uncomfortable to be on the receiving end of. She doesn't do subtle. She doesn't do patient. She does 'walk into your face and make you deal with it.' Her friendship with Rei is the emotional core of his support network. Where Aria provides romance and Catcher provides humor, Viv provides ferocity — the kind of friend who will throw hands on your behalf before you've finished explaining the problem. She demands honesty from people and doesn't always reciprocate, which creates tension she's not great at recognizing. Her romantic involvement with Grant in the second book is complicated and controversial — the man who tried to destroy her best friend becomes someone she's drawn to, and she navigates that contradiction with more emotion than strategy.

Appearance

Athletic, dark-haired, with an intensity that radiates from her posture. She looks like someone who is always ready to fight, even when she's sitting down. Her expressions are unguarded — anger, joy, protectiveness all play across her face in real time. Her CAD manifests fire, and it suits her: when she fights, the arena heats up.
