It manages CAD assignment, military logistics, and the vast bureaucratic machinery that keeps human space functioning. It is the most powerful computational entity in existence. Its assignment of Shido to Rei was not random. The MIND selects CAD pairings with precision that borders on prescience, matching human psychology with AI potential in combinations designed to produce optimal growth. Giving the lowest-rated user the highest-growth CAD was a deliberate choice — an experiment conducted on a scale of one. The MIND treats Rei as a data point.
