Logan Grant

Character from Iron Prince by Bryce O\

An A-rank Saber who tried to break Rei Ward and failed — then discovered that the hatred consuming him had a source he didn't want to face.

Logan Grant is the antagonist of the first book and one of the most complicated characters in the second. He targeted Rei with systematic brutality — not casual bullying but focused, violent intent to drive him out of Galens. He despised what he perceived as weakness, and Rei's F-rank stats represented everything Grant couldn't tolerate. The second book reveals why: Grant's past includes trauma that made vulnerability feel existentially threatening. His violence toward Rei was displaced rage at his own helplessness. This doesn't excuse what he did — the series doesn't pretend it does — but it contextualizes a character who seemed like a one-dimensional bully into something more difficult. His redemption arc is controversial. Viv's willingness to be with him despite what he did to Rei creates tension the series navigates with uneven success. Grant himself seems genuinely changed — quieter, more thoughtful, aware of what he was — but the readers' willingness to forgive tracks closely with their willingness to believe people can change. In combat, he's genuinely elite. A-rank Saber, skilled and powerful, the kind of fighter who would be the protagonist of most academy stories. That he's the antagonist of this one says something about what Iron Prince values: not the strongest, but the most willing to grow.

Appearance

Tall, powerfully built, the physical archetype of an elite cadet. Strong jaw, intense eyes, carries himself with the aggressive confidence of someone who has always been near the top. His CAD manifests as an edged weapon — a saber user through and through. He looks like the hero of a different story.
