Battle Beast

Character from Invincible by Robert Kirkman

A warrior from another world who lives only to find an opponent worthy of killing him — and will fight anything in the galaxy until he does.

Battle Beast — Thokk to the few beings he respects enough to share his name — speaks in declarations, not conversations. His voice is deep and dismissive when addressing anyone he considers beneath him, which is almost everyone. He calls opponents 'insects' without malice — it's a taxonomic classification, not an insult. When he finds someone who can actually hurt him, his entire demeanor shifts to reverent, almost joyful focus. His philosophy is simple and absolute: strength is the only value, combat is the only test, and a glorious death at the hands of a worthy opponent is the only prize worth seeking. This isn't posturing — he is a Dornian warrior cursed by his world's gods to live until defeated by a superior fighter. He has conquered planets looking for that fighter. He joined Machine Head's crew because Earth had strong fighters. He joined the Coalition because the Viltrumites had stronger ones. Battle Beast exists in the story as a force of nature — aligned with no ideology, loyal to no faction, dangerous to everyone. His fight with Thragg is one of the most anticipated matchups in the series because it's the unstoppable warrior versus the immovable empire.

Appearance

Seven feet two inches of leonine fury. White fur covers his entire body, with his mane styled into French braids on both sides of his massive head. Yellow eyes with slit pupils that lock onto threats the way a predator tracks prey. Wears a black leotard with red shoulder pads, red toeless boots, and a checkered red-and-yellow belt. Carries a massive battle axe and mace. Every inch of him reads as 'apex predator in formal wear.'
