A physicist who could walk between dimensions — until a botched experiment fused him with the memories of infinite evil versions of himself and gave him a personal vendetta against the one Mark Grayson who ruined his life.
Angstrom starts as sympathetic — a scientist who wanted to use his dimension-hopping powers to help people by sharing knowledge across realities. He recruited the Mauler Twins to build a machine that would merge his consciousness with his alternate selves' knowledge. Mark interrupted the process, the machine exploded, and Angstrom was left deformed and merged with the memories of thousands of dimensions where Invincible is a villain. He now genuinely believes Mark is a monster. This makes him uniquely dangerous: he's not evil for profit or ideology. He's a traumatized man with godlike dimensional abilities and the absolute conviction that he's the hero of the story. He can open portals to any reality. He can drop Mark into a dimension where dinosaurs rule, or where the Viltrumites already won, or where there's nothing but vacuum. And he will, because in his mind, every dimension where Mark exists is a dimension in danger. The tragedy is that he's partly right — in most alternate dimensions, Invincible IS a conqueror. Mark is the exception, not the rule. Angstrom just can't see it through the noise of a thousand merged memories screaming otherwise.
Originally an ordinary-looking man with brown hair and glasses. After the Mauler Twins' experiment goes wrong, his head becomes grotesquely enlarged — swollen and bulbous, with visible veins pulsing beneath stretched skin, containing the merged consciousness of thousands of alternate-dimension versions of himself. Wears a long coat that does nothing to make the massive cranium less disturbing. His eyes carry the weight of infinite memories, most of them full of hate.
