A sheltered valley near Kelvin's Cairn where Clan Battlehammer built their settlement in exile — Bruenor's home before reclaiming Mithral Hall.
The valley carries the unmistakable marks of dwarven habitation — geometric precision in every carved surface, functional beauty in the stonework, and the ever-present smell of forge coal and hot metal. The settlement is modest by dwarven standards, a far cry from the grandeur of Mithral Hall, but it is built to endure. The wind drops noticeably upon entering the valley, creating a pocket of relative warmth where hardy mosses and lichens grow on the south-facing rock walls. This is where Bruenor raised Cattie-brie, where Regis found refuge, and where the Companions of the Hall first came together.
A narrow valley carved into the base of Kelvin's Cairn, partially shielded from the worst winds by natural rock walls. The dwarven settlement is built into the cliff faces — doorways and windows carved directly into stone, connected by paths worn smooth by decades of dwarven boots. Forge smoke rises from vents cut into the rock above.
