The Codicil of White is both prayer book and instruction manual for a ritual that can shatter Auril's grip on Icewind Dale. Its contents describe how to reach the island of Solstice, confront Auril's tests, and break the enchantment maintaining the everlasting winter. The text also hints at what lies beneath the Reghed Glacier — the buried city of Ythryn. Auril's followers have hidden it to prevent anyone from ending the winter, making the search for it a quest in itself.

Appearance

An ancient tome bound in white leather with silver clasps, its pages inscribed with prayers in an archaic script. Frost perpetually rimes its edges, and it is cold to the touch regardless of surrounding temperature.
